Last Slice of Life Post

By Kelwyn

Well it's March 31 which means this is the last Slice of Life Post. This was a really fun thing to do. I wish we could do this again. I really enjoyed it but I am going to miss it because now I wont know how fun everybody had during there day. I always loved coming on here and telling everyone about my day, it can get all the problems I am having now and make it go away. This was the only place where I could let all my problems GO! I hope everyone also liked this activity. This is one thing I will never forget about my 6th grade year. Well there's also a April Fools thread but technically this is the last Slice of Life post of March! Happy early  April fools Day!!!!!!!

Ball Game Thingy

By Connor

Today in PE we played a game called "_____ ball". The funny thing about this game is that I don't know what goes into the blank. It is like a combination of football and soccer, there is a big net and you can pass the ball or throw it in. It is also mixed with lacrosse. This was probably the best day of PE that I've had at this school. I scored 3 times.

Our goaly _____ got hit in the face on the job. It hit his glasses. This historic event looked like you would see it on AFV or something, or FAILBLOG. I started laughing really hard. But then when I saw _____ was crying I stopped laughing.

Coloring

By Jay

You know when we were all little kids, who couldn't wait to go to Art class! That definitely has happened to me! I used to love Art! Now I'm in Band and I don't get Art, and my love for Art has dropped completely! Today for Social Studies and Reading we could have been doing coloring for homework. I chose that option in both of the available classes, but the choice might not have been the right one. A couple of minutes ago I found myself working very briskly on the mistake I made. From lack of doing art my capabilities and work rate on today's homework was pretty sub-par. Maybe I need another visit to a Hopper or Monet exhibit to boost my performance! Have you seen American Gothic, well I have! What other cool paintings have you seen? Nighthawks, anybody?

Prank War!!!!

By Andriana

OK so in early march me Camila and Tracy were having a prank war against Max, Andy, and Bruno.

They pranked us first by telling us they had a gift and then we opened the box and there was a stinky shoe,Hello....that is grounds for a prank war. So me and my friends had all these ideas. First we had to figure out all there locker combination's so we asked people and we got Andy's and Bruno combination, but not Max and we never did but anyway they also knew Tracy and my combination which was not good and that meant only Camila was safe so we had this idea that we would switch all our locks and Nadia and Gianni were in on it too. I gave my lock to Gianni he gave his to Camila she gave hers to Tracy she gave hers to Nadia and she gave hers to me. It was an awesome plan. So then Max started bragging about how he knew Tracy and my combination and I said go try it and he tried mine and it didn't work and he got mad and said you changed it and he kept on trying for like 5 minutes and could not get it open, it was hilarious. So when my team was all at the Rec we got pudding for snack and we took it and spread it all over the inside of Andy's locker. In the morning his face was so red but he was laughing too. We ended right there for some reason and we won, they think they one because the next prank they pulled on us was putting Hand Sanitizer on my locker, I said Thank you for keeping my locker clean (Backfire)

Golf Cart Crash!!!!!!!

By Leana
MONIQUE COME HERE! I yell at my sister as she is running bare-foot through my grandma's chocolate colored yard while I am chasing her in the golf cart. Then of all places she decides to go between two cars, and me without thinking drive through them or at least try to drive through them. BOOM! I crash into the fence that stands beside the golf cart and the two cars "Oh no what am I going to do" I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes and that feeling in the pit of my stomach like when you are about to go down that  big hill at the top of a rollercoaster.  My grandparents had spent months fixing that fence what were they going to think when they saw that it was hanging on just by a nail. REVERSE! My sister yells through her giggles, but when I do the whole fence falls on the windshield my heart starts beating like there was an angry elf trying to get out. “Okay” Monique says just get out and we can try to fix it, that's exactly what I did and we kind of succeeded, but at the same time being a epic fail from what it looked like before. When we were finally done, we walked inside the old brick house and plopped down on the couch actually laughing at what just happened.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
Mabey I will make this mistake again...it was kind of fun!

Waiting for Superman

 By Hunter

Today I was outside with a few of my friends. At first we were playing Man hunt and then kick the can. Everyone started to leave. My mom called my sister and me inside. My dad was watching a movie called Waiting for Superman. It was about kids that went to schools and didn't get enough education. I only was able to see the last 25-30 minutes. There were 6 kids trying to get into a better school, but they have to enter a lottery. Its when they randomly chose kids to enter there schools. 1:6 of the kids that got into the schools. But for the last 5 minutes one of the kids got a phone call. He picks it up and it was one of the schools. They talked and then he was going to cry because they opened more spots and he was able to go, in the end it was 2:6=1:3 was able to go. If you want to see this movie it has a great story to it but its very very sad.

The Hike

By Lauren

As we neared the top of the hike I was getting hotter and more tired by the minute.  Then at the very top we turned a corner and there it was. A giant 200 foot tall sandstone arch, right in front of us. We were at the top of a hill and just having the arch below us made me feel special. On either side of the arch there was a 30 foot cliff, the path that lead under the arch was only about 10 feet wide. So Will and I went under it to take our picture. We were very cautious while walking under the arch. It was very scary being in between two cliffs but really exciting to be under the arch at the same time. My Mom was too nervous to stand under the arch, so Will and I took a picture with her at the base of the arch. After a while looking and standing under the arch it was time to go. I was sad to go and didn’ t want to ever leave this beautiful place. But I was also excited to see what else we would do today. The mile and a half hike down wasn’t the most fun thing in the world, but was much easier than the hike up. In the end I realized that the hike really was worth it and sometimes the best things in life you have to work and wait for.

I Wasn't Here Today!

By Lili

My mom quietly and politely wakes me up with a light shake of the shoulder. She says softly, "Get up, you have to be at the dentist at 9:10", I grunt back "why so earl-?". She had already left the room by the time I could finish my question. I lay in bed for 10 minutes questionable: "Do I have to go to school after this?", "Is this going to hurt?. I stumble out of bed at 7:36 to the living room where my mom is sipping coffee and watching the Today show. She told me the news of how our car alarm went off 12:00 last night, so my mom and my step-dad had to unplug something in the car so it would stop the alarm. And they did, since my mom didn't have time to plug it back in, we walked to the dentist. It took about 15-20 minutes to walk there, but really it felt like 2 hours. A brisk wind blew on my face, and I began to realize my nose was running. We had no tissues so all I could do was inhale it back into my nose. We got to the dentist with 11 minutes to spare. All I could think about was my 2 teeth getting pulled, and what the numbing shots were going to feel like. As I await pain, I watch the 2 cutest little kids I have probably ever seen. They were brother and sister, the sister was about 2 and a 1/2 feet tall with sandy brown hair and two teeth missing, she sucked on the edge of her sleeve: spit drooling on her face, but it wasn't disgusting it was quite adorable. Her brother also had brown hair but it was cut down to peach fuzz, he was about 6 inches taller than his sister, and was in fascination with his dentist office action figure. I gave a small smile to both of them and they both smiled back, it gave me a good feeling, because I love little kids and it makes me feel warm, lovable, and happy inside when they see me smile and they smile back. Before I knew it, it was time for me to get teeth pulled. I came into a room with the usual uncomfortable dentist chair. I lay down in confusion (probably because of all the blood rushing to my head). A very tall Asian guy walks in, in blue scrubs with a name tag I could hardly read. He said too calmly "Hello, Lili". Normally my doctor or dentist calls me 'Ms.' so this guy just made me feel kind of unwelcome. I nervously say hello back. The next thing I know this short blonde girl walks in with a cheerful look on her face (made me think she enjoyed the pain children get when she pulls their teeth out) but no, she asked me if I was ready and I said 'no'. She said gleefully "Well trust me, I guarantee you this won't hurt". She starts out with putting on a green pair of latex gloves. She grabs one of the shots and fills it with novacaine, I start to shake. She mumbles "open wide" and I did. she reached her hand inside my mouth and starts injecting the numbing fluid. And it hurt, not as much as I thought, but it did it felt like somebody kept poking my gums with a knife shortly and quickly. Within a few seconds I feel the novacaine kicking in, she had given me 4 shots because the roots in my teeth were both still strong. I pinch my stomach and start to groan, she had to put in a 5th. By that time I felt nothing and I began to drool (and guys it was not adorable) she came around me teeth with pliers I asked if it was done yet and she had already pulled both out. She put 2 pieces of cotton between my teeth. I jumped out of the dentist chair and ran to my mom. The dentist gave my mom a bag with instructions, my teeth, and a dentist sticker. We walk to the mall and into one of my now favorite places to eat: Panera Bread! Since I could only eat soft food I got the bacon and spinach souffle'  (it was delicious). A while after that I start to feel my tooth pain and I ask my mom if we could leave. So we left, the whole 2 and a halh miles I was moaning and groaning. The numbing had worn off and it felt like there was a long needle stuck in both of my teeth. More agonizing pain hit me and I felt as if I were going to pass out. The road looked longer and I felt shorter, we only had a block left to go. I sniffled and shook all the way home. I fell flat on the couch and took a nap. I woke up and the pain was gone.

Yes that was my day, I'm not going to get braces until I get my teeth in-plants.

Have a Frustrating Friday! :/

The App Store

By Riitisha
"No, I have homework!!" I protested as I was dragged beyond my will, outside.
"Since when do YOU care about your homework?!" Alana replied.
... That was a good point. But, on the other hand, that was an excuse.
It was a Saturday, and it was 9:00. I had woken up about 10 minutes ago, hadn't even eaten  breakfast. And my friends were here to take me someplace un-known. And my parents were fine with it.Talk about NOT HELPING.
"We're going to the app store. Its more fun with you" Andrew said. I brightened.
They should have started with that!!
When we got to the app store ... we had a blast. It was un-describable. There were so many new items!! I hadn't been here in a long time, and I hadn't hung out with Andrew and Alana in forever either. I LOVED THIS PLACE!! No, scratch that; I LOVE THIS PLACE!! <3
The app store is always fun. We stayed till about 1:00, then decided to get fooood(:
{P.s. I like food <3}
You know .. being dragged out by your friends on a Saturday is not that bad of a thing .. o.O

English Class

By Haben

Today in English class we had to write about one thing that we really hate or something that we don’t get or can’t solve. I wrote about people who talk behind your back. That really gets me annoyed because people don’t have a reason why they should say negative about others without the other people knowing. What I really hate is when someone talks about someone else and when that someone else finds out and asks the person if they really did say cruel stuff about them, the person would mostly say, “No. What are you talking about. I never said that about you.” That is so annoying when it happens. That is why I hate it.

Stupid Show

By Annabel

Today my babysitter had her friend over and we had an agreement about what show or person we thought was more stupid! It was between Justin Beiber and Big Time Rush.  It wasn't about personality, it was about signing. I thought that Justin Beiber was a worse singer. My little brother agreed with me but my babysitter and her friend said Big Time Rush. Her friend had never seen Big Time Rush so he thought that it was the worst show in the world and couldn't believe that they were a real band! It was a tie but they said that they were adults so they overruled us.

Rain Rain Rain

By Zoë

BOOM...BOOM.............BOOM!!!!!!!!
That is what woke me up this morning. I also woke up to the sound of my cat meowing and running around my bed.  My cat, Bagheera was so scared that she was running around my bed like a maniac. One of the other reasons Bagheera was scared was because my bed was right next to the window so you could clearly hear the pitter, patter that was hitting the roof.
When my cat wouldn't be quite I literally picked her up off my bed and put her under my covers and put the covers over her. When I put her under my covers she curled up into her little ball and went back to sleep but I didn't. I went to school.

I finish one and then I wanted another and another. I ended up eating 6 slices of pizza. I'm the only one in my family who likes pure extar cheeze pizza(weird). Everyone else likes peporonni. I ate 6/8 of it. Oh no I'm doing math......................."AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Well anyway I had pizza for breakfast too with CCCOOFFFEE!!! I mean who doesn't like coffee. People say I'm to young or little to have coffe 2 times a day. All I hear is, "Drink as much coffee as you want." Well that was my night. Hope you had a good night(maybe).

My Birthday!

By Silvia

Today is my Birthday! YAY! I'm now 12 years old........... but I don't want to be 12. Why, you ask. Well because I then have to act more 'mature', like my older sister says.  I don't want to act more older, because it is so boring being older.
Anyways, I'm not celebrating my birthday today.I'm going to celebrate my birthday at Saturday because why should I spend my birthday time at school? I want to spend it with the things I want to do. So I decided to spend it on Saturday.
Well.....now I'm 12................................................................................................................................................

I pictured this moment more better in my mind.

Girl Scouts

By Zoë

Today my girl scout troop and I led the Daisies (a girl scout troop for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders.) I had a lot of fun. The meeting was about ways to respect yourself and others. A group of us including Lauren, Rachel and me did a station which was: we made 6 petals to a flower. We then split 15-16 kids into 3 groups and we had them brainstormed ways that you can respect yourself and others. We had 4-5 things on each petal. I was group #1. The first troop was kindergarteners and they were a piece of work. They came up with: treat others the way you want to be treated things like that. We then had the first graders who weren't as hard to handle. They came up with a lot of things such as brush your teeth and take a bath/shower. Each time when all of the different groups were done we gathered together on the rug, shared our ideas and put all 6 petals on a piece of paper that had every thing on it except the petals to make a flower. After all of that was done we went into a different room, had snack and some other girls in my troop did 2 skits. The first one was about someone being bullied and the 2nd was about if somebody is different  you don't have to be mean or bully them.
I had a lot of fun doing it. It was a good experience. I am glad I went.

Show Team Meeting!

By Claire

Today at the barn we had our show season kick off meeting and discussed about what level and what horse we were going to ride. I'm going to ride a pony named, Cinnamon. She's a really nice Halfnger and we're riding traning 1 & 2. The levels are Intro A, B, C, Training 1, 2, 3, Level 1 1,2, 3, Level 2 1, 2, 3, Level 3 1, 2, 3, Level 4 1, 2, 3 and after that it's all international levels. Those were the national levels that I just listed. We have 5 shows leading up to the championships which is at Morven Park. It's a Dressage show team. Throughout the winter I did a hunter show team which was not too good. The shows that I'm doing now you take your own horse or pony to all the shows and for the hunter you ride the other barn's horses except for the finale. Well that's all for now, Bye!

Bowling at the White House!!!!!!!!!

By Chris

Yesterday was the most epic day ever for me. After I ate my lunch, I worked on the first typed draft of my fiction story. After that, my parents called my sister and I and said, "Okay, guys, go to the bathroom, we're going somewhere," Though they refused to tell us where that somewhere was. We went to the bathroom, and we saw that our cousins had come. I asked if they were coming to the place and they replied with an excited "yes!" I asked if they knew where we were going and they said "Bowling, at the White House!!!!!!!!!" We ran around in our front yard for a few minutes, then loaded into our car to go. We parked about two blocks away, and met up with my uncles friend, Nancy, who works in the executive office building. We had to go through extensive security screenings asking our birthdays and social security digits. We did that twice and then  Ms. Nancy went into a SECRET SERVICE! room to get the bowling alley key. The bowling alley was a two lane bowling alley with a score sheet, a bunch of balls, and a ball dispenser. We warmed- up, and started the game. (No, none of the Obamas were there). Halfway through, one of the lanes broke down, so we went to one lane until a matinence  man came and fixed the alley. We had 2 teams of four and my team won. I had two spares and a strike, in the White House! It turned out to be one of the most fun experiences of my life.

Friends

By Johanna

Today I am going to go to my friend’s house for a sleepover.  It is her birthday.  She is also inviting a friend that I don't know.  She lives right next to me.  It is kind of weird because she is turning thirteen and I am only 11.  Also, we are pretty much opposites.  She likes watching TV or playing video games, and I like reading.  She knows pretty much everything about celebrities that you can from a magazine she gets, and I know nothing.  Actually, now that it occurs to me, I would have never known about Taylor Swift without her (now I have 3 of her albums), or Avril Lavigne, or others.  It is kind of a strange relationship, but it works, and it is kind of like getting the best of both worlds.

Swim Meet

By Lauren

Yesterday we had our first swim meet. We all rode the bus over to Washington and Lee Swimming pool.  I got dressed in my swim suit with everyone else and then walked out to the pool deck. We all got in the pool for warm up getting more and more excited to swim in the meet every second. When we got out of the pool we all got instructions. As the meet started we all gathered around the side of the pool. The first event was the Boys 200 yard Medley Relay. Which meant my event for the girls relay was next. I got more and more excited and anxious as the boys finished. I had to swim a 50 yard fly for the relay and had to dive in over Zoë.  While Zoë was swimming I stepped up on the block and waited for my turn to swim. As Zoë approached I got ready to dive, then as she touched I was in the water. I swam as fast as I could and took as little breaths as possible. When I finished I got out and watched Marissa swim in. When we were finished we got third place. Then we all stood on the side of the pool cheering for our team. I also had to swim the 25 back and fly, again I was anxious. When they blew the whistle I got up on the block (or in the water for back) and when the buzzer sounded I was off trying to hold my breath and swim to the other end as fast as possible. When I was done I continued cheering, talking with my friends, wishing Good Luck and giving high-5s to swimmers. When the meet was over, we beat the other team by a lot. But in the end it wasn’t for winning, it was for fun!

Meeting Layla

 By Tasnim

Eventually, my uncle left me to go back down stairs where the rest of the family was. I didn't mind. That meant that I really will be able to be the first one to meet Layla. When the doctor finally retreated from her long discussion with the new parents, I rushed right into the room.

My brother-in-law proudly handed her to me. there is no way to describe how I felt as soon as her little body rested on my arms, but the best way to illustrate the image is that it felt like a blessed spirit depending on you for happiness. There was no other feeling in the world then a truly lovable little angel nestling on your arms.
The family came up a couple minutes later. We talked and talked, took pictures. Some of the toddlers even petted Layla's head, which was a pretty funny picture. They didn't know what else to do. People actually cried at the sight of Layla. Crazy how much she can do.
My favorite part, aside from holding an angel, was watching the new parents' and grandparents' reaction to the tiny thing that changed their life forever, on that Christmas night. Though they might not admit it, there hearts had melted too

A New Student

By Austin

Today I was in English and Dennis was sitting next to me. He said that there was a "new student". I thought he was kidding, I didn't hear anything, that's for sure.

"Ok, that's great," I said without even looking up from highlighting a million verbs.

"Seriously! Look!" he said. I glanced to where he was pointing. There was a girl with frizzy hair and that was all you could see. I knew it was Haben, but I knew Dennis didn't know that so I played along and eventually Dennis figured it out.

It was funny, how just a hairstyle could fool someone.

Gas Prices

By Prashanth

Has anyone seen them? 50 cents more and it will be $4 a galon! I was driving with my dad to a store and I drove by a gas station already selling gas at $4.10 a galon. On my way home from Tae Kwan Do my dad filled up gas at the cheapest place he could find, $3.54 a galon. When I came home I saw Everybody Hates Chris on TV and he was talking about gas prices. Back then it was 89 cents a galon. Now its like 89 cents a drop. I thought that was funny. Anyway, with gas prices going up I wonder the highest it will go. Now's the chance to buy galons of gas before it goes up.

The Big Surprise

By Bridget

Really early this morning, my mom woke me up, way before I was supposed to get ready for school. She handed me the phone.
Who the heck is calling me at 5 am? I thought.
“ Hello,” I said.
“ Hello, Kimberly.” The voice was familiar. It was my grandma, Big Mama!
“Big Mama!” I shouted!
“ Guess what.” But before I could guess, she hollered “Big Daddy and I are coming to visit you guys in America for 5 months!! We’ll be arriving on March 28! We will also stay with your family for 2 months!”
(For those of you confused, my grandparents stay with all 6 of her kids who have room)
“ Really? Great, my house has finished construction, and we already moved! Plus, your room is completely ready! So is your bathroom!” I yelled! I was surprised I hadn’t woken up the whole neighborhood yet!
“ Great! Plus I’ll try to bring Blanca!” she said.
My face fell. The last time Blanca came, she almost died. She isn’t used to the weather and pollution here. In Bolivia, it’s a lot fresher, and there is not as much pollution. But I really wanted to see my puppy. But I didn’t want her to get sick again.
“ Better not. I don’t want her to suffer. We could do a video chat later today,” I offered.
“ Okay Kimmy,” She said. (P.S. if you call me Kimmy, I’ll kill you. Well maybe not kill but injure)
So then I hung up, because it was a really long distance call. I tried to go to sleep for hopefully another 2 hours or so. But I couldn’t, I was just too excited. My grandparents were going to be here for all the most important events in the year. I had to get ready for school. So now I am posting to you guys.

Playing With a Legend

 By Quinn

One weekend I went down to my grandmas house. As usual I would go over and play my friends that lived next door, but this time there was a special guest at there house. He was only there because he knew there dad which was awesome because I got to meet him. His name was Jermaine. He was tall, black, and fast. When there dad came home with him in the car we all thought who the heck is that guy. When they got out of the car their dad introduced him and told us that he had played at Virginia Tech and was a legend. I thought to myself this is so cool. After a while my friends and I decided to play a little football game called Offense Defense. When we had just started to play Jermaine and their dad came out and started to play with us. The sweet part was since I am really tall for my age we were very close to each other in height. So on the next play their dad threw the ball to him and I intercepted it. Which gave my team the ball and we ended up winning. That is the time of when I got to play with Legend that came from my roots of Virginia Tech.

My New Yo-yos (yes it is plural)

By Maeve

Have I ever told you about my Christmas? Well, for most of you, you've never heard about it. So, for most of you, the answer would be no. Well, for those of you who answered no, keep on reading and I'll tell you about it; for those of you who answered yes, well, you can either hear about it again, or just move on to another post.
My Christmas was very, um... how do I put this? Peculiar. As always, I had three of them, but this time it was one on Christmas day, one was a little before Christmas day, and one was on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Let me just focus on the one that was on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.
I know, right now most of you are going, What? Martin Luther King Jr. weekend? That's nowhere near Christmas! And my brilliant answer to that is, there was a lot of snow at Christmas time in North Carolina. So the family gathered at Grandma's house on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend instead.
As always, the atmosphere was very nice and cheery. All of my relatives on my mom's side were there, and so were some people that I don't particularly know. Everyone was happy, and there was a lot of talking. While we were eating dinner, my uncle was talking about his business trip to Alaska. I had no clue that that would have so much to do wit the present that i would get from them.
After we had eaten, everyone went straight to the living room, even the adults couldn't wait to get presents. Grandma passed everyone's gifts to them, and once everyone had all of their presents, we started to open them. The first gift that I opened was from my uncle who went to Alaska. I tore off the wrapping paper, and then joked to him, "A small brown box, what an unusual gift." I was excited to see what was in that small brown box, so I opened it. And what was inside? Two small, furry balls that were attached to an unbalanced string.  I wasn't sure what they were, so I didn't know how to say thank-you, until my cousin piped up that they were Eskimo yo-yos. That helped a ton with thank-you terms.
In the box there was also a small slip of paper. My aunt explained that these were the instructions, but they didn't make any sense until you watched the You-tube video. So, my other uncle whipped out his i-phone, and found the video on You-tube.
The video showed that you had to spin one of the balls in a circle one way, wait a few seconds, and then spin the other ball in a circle going the other way. To keep the motion going you bob your hand up and down.
I spent the rest of the day trying to get it, and my record now is something like 40 rotations.

TGIF

By Joann

How much I'm looking forward to SATURDAY! I only look forward to a few things in my life because rarely does anything surprising happen in my life. But the past few weeks I have been looking forward to Saturday very much! Saturday is the day I get to go back to the Career Center and take my cooking classes again! It gets pretty boring staying at home on Saturdays with nothing to do.
Last Week: I went over to my old friends house. She goes to another school now!! I miss her very much. But this week I'm busy! I'm going to the dentist for my jaw disorder after the cooking class so YES!!! Mwahaha, Beat THAT boring old Saturday... You can't make me feel bored all the time!!!! I wonder if COWS are able to cook... I know I Can.

Ugh

By Jay

Hey ya'll! Can you believe it? We have a three day weekend! If only I wasn't completely booked. Ugh, why does my life feel crammed into a little box, but when I try to break free and rest, I just find I have even more things to do. First off I will wake up and play in a band concert, then skedaddle off to a soccer game,  go home and do homework, have another soccer game, then go off my sister's soccer game, and find some time to spend with my granpa. Ugh! Why does my life feel crammed into a little box, but when I try to break free and rest, I just find I have even more things to do.

The Aquarium

By Helen

Imagine you are walking in a rain forest, it is pitch black and you feel like something is going to jump out any minute. The only source of light is the guide's small blue flashlight. Scary right? Well it is, that was my high... well that's not really the word, maybe... most distinct moment of last weekend. Okay, it wasn't a real rain forest just the one in the Baltimore aquarium but the eerie feeling still clung to the branches. But it was pitch black with  the only light from the guide. You see, the aquarium was closed but the animals were still all around you. I was walking in rain forest, it was pitch black and I felt something was going to jump out any minute.

Braces

By Brooke

Braces. One word, one simple word and the pain begins to sink into my mind. Its the ugly, nerdy, painful essence of the whole thing that makes me dread them. Now don't get me wrong I don't want to offend anyone else you has them but they really are a pain.
The Scene.
Yesterday right after 1st period(math) my Mom came to pick me up and we headed to the orthodontist. While in the car ride I was reading a part of Catching Fire in the Hunger Games trilogy and what do you know all the scene talks about is pain. Death over one simple word(fog). Yet still do you think that's a coincidence? I don't. This makes me feel so much better.
Then pain and a lot of smiles saying, "This won't hurt one bit."
Oww. Is all I can say to describe the next three hours of my life.
Braces. One word, one simple word and the pain begins to sink into my mind.
